Jasper has a special passion for singing song repertoire. In Paris in 1999, he won first prize at the Musicora competition. He performed Poulenc and Ravel there. Since then, he has sung many recitals both domestically and internationally. His CD La Bonne Chanson featuring songs by Fauré with texts by Verlaine, and his CDs with Winterreise, Schöne Müllerin, and Schwanengesang by Schubert, as well as songs by Francis Poulenc with texts by Paul Éluard, have received excellent reviews in the press.
In 2019, Jasper began the complete recording of all songs by Franz Schubert. He does this together with fortepianist Riko Fukuda and on behalf of the Schubertiade Foundation (www.schubertiade.nl). The songs are released exclusively on streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and others. Volumes 1 to 7 of the foundation have already been released. Their recording of Dichterliebe and Liederkreis Opus 39 will be released in the spring of 2025.
In addition to singing, Jasper is a singing teacher at the Kamper Boys Choir and serves as the artistic coordinator of the Dutch Chamber Choir.
